The User Experience
The user experience is very important in Digital Transformation. System One assembled an Expo that would show end users the new technology as well as ask questions, socialize, and eat cookies. While the user is walking around the Expo, their computer is being backed up and migrated to their new asset. It was important that users had training available to them in various forms. System One deployed Brainstorms Office 365 training available online and as an add-on to Office Apps. By engaging the end users, we were able to increase adoption to more than three times the national average!
As part of the ‘Anytime, Anywhere’ theme, System One architected and implemented a CITRIX farm that required 250 concurrent users to have the same experience as those on the newly deployed laptops. System One created the project plan, submitted purchase orders, and scheduled resources to complete the project. Our virtual machines ran the same software as the laptops that were being deployed to ensure compatibility.
The user training and experience was the same for everyone, which reduced support calls and training materials needed. It also facilitated offshore Help Desk technicians. The hardware required for the CITRIX farm had to be extremely fast to gain user adoption. System One recommended the use of a Dell EMC with (twenty-four (24) Solid State Drive (SSD) cluster to deliver the power. By leveraging roaming profiles, user data was able to follow the user no matter which VM they log onto. This kept the experiences extremely simple.
