The What If App

System One developed the What If App to help organizations identify what sensor values to change and what values are optimum. In a simulation, users can pull historical values each time there was a scrap event happening. Then within the What If App, users can adjust the sensor values in an application and rerun the predicted model to see if they are able to reduce the scrap. The use of this application allows us to ask, “What if?”.  And this is all done by running a virtual scenario without wasting any product!

 When the sensors are dialed in and scrap looks like it will be reduced or eliminated, the plant operator can use those values in production. The following day, he/she can reassess to see what changes occurred and if indeed the scrap was lowered. What could have taken a facility weeks or months to test, can be done in a simulation, over and over until just the right combination is found. This not only reduces scrap but saves so much valuable time.
