Reclaiming Licenses

System One Digital created a process where we audit all PCs in an organization to help identify trends. This enables us to uncover any licensed software that is not being used. We find software that was installed on user’s PCs, but data that shows it was not used, or used very little. System One Digital contacts those users and requests permission to reallocate the licenses. This enables us to turn around and give the licenses to others within the company who need them.

System One Digital has learned that over time assets move around, and in the past, it was very difficult to manage. Laptops normally went from person to person as people would leave or move to a different position. After implementing this new process, people who were no longer using licensed software were able to release the licenses so IT could reclaim them and reallocate those licenses to other users who require the software.

We were able to achieve a cost avoidance by eliminating the need to purchase additional licenses!
